EVGENY PLATOV- OKSANA GRISHUK
|
The ice dancing duo of Oksana Grishuk and Evgeny Platov was born in August 1989. Four months later Oksana and Evgeny already took the bronze medal of the USSR National Figure Skating Championships. Two years later they became the winners of the last USSR Nationals. In the history of ice dancing there had never been a precedent of two-time Olympic gold medalists until the night of February 16th, 1998 witnessed history in the making: Pasha (Oksana) Grishuk and Evgeny Platov became the two-time Olympic Champions… |

* Receiving a total of 12 x 6.0 during one competition is a record which Pasha Grishuk and Evgeny Platov share with Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean
The interminable torture of training and the agony of competition were behind them.
The much-awaited glory was ahead. They just had to step on the well-trodden path of professional figure skating and start cutting the coupons.
Instead, a few months after their Olympic triumph in Nagano, the duo…broke apart. Such a "divorce" is as unique as the sports achievements of Oksana and Evgeny. Why was this legendary ice dancing pair left without the legendary fees? Disputes about it have been rife until now… Please, read our Media page for more. |
